    Food & Nutrition

    Picture
Daisy Chain provides a hot meal and breakfast for all full time children in our care, which is supplied by a specialist caterer. They provide a pre-cooked meal, which is delivered to our nurserys. These meals are prepared and cooked in a dedicated Health Board registered facility. The process is dedicated to following the HACCP food safety system. Their emphasis is on providing high nutrition, wholesome meals with as much variety as possible to give a balanced diet and encourage the development of a broad range of tastes. Parents must supply a small nutritious snack. Although there is no cooking involved in our Nursery’s we are still aware of the HACCP system which is a preventative system used by food businesses to identify steps critical to ensure food safety, so it is important that all food brought into our Nursery is inspected in the appropriate manner.

    Health & Safety

We at Daisy Chain ensure all equipment; fixtures and fittings comply with the safety standards. Within our nursery, it is the shared responsibility for all staff to ensure the children are kept safe within our service.
The manager ensures that sensible measures to protect children and those caring for them are put in place.

All our staff are trained in the HACCP systems and are equipped with the knowledge and skills to respond effectively where there is concern about the welfare of a child. All children are supervised at all times.
The majority of our staff are first aid trained which gets updated every three years.

There are first aid boxes available in each room and in the case of an emergency we have a doctor on call.

    Security

    Picture
All our services have intercom access to our main doors. All unauthorised visitors must sign in and out of the centre. Children must be collected by parents or by those authorised. If parents want another person to collect their child they must notify a staff member in their child’s group and fill in a collection consent form. In the event of a child being ill and parents being unavailable, persons authorised on the child’s record form will be contacted. It is recommended that they carry some form of identification with them as without prior notification a child will NOT be released to another person.
